Breitling Cosmonaute Men’s Watch – Limited Edition
New for 2010, the Breitling Cosmonaute is based on the original Navitimer chronograph. Breitling celebrates its 125th anniversary with the issuance of this limited edition.
To prevent confusion between day and night, for those of us who might have this problem other than astronauts, the Cosmonaute indicates the daily 24 hours in a single sweep of the dial. Paying homage to astronaut Scott Carpenter who wore the Navitimer on May 24, 1962 during the orbital flight aboard the Aurora 7, the Cosmonaute was the first Bretiling chronograph in space.
This watch has an appealing retro look with three sub-dials featuring a 1/5th of a second chronograph, 30 minute and 12 hour totalizers and flyback function. Date is displayed at the 9 o’clock position.
Only a few lucky people will call this handsome watch their own as just 1,000 will be produced. It is equipped with the original version of the 24-hour dial and the rigid Air racer perforated bracelet. The bezel is bi-directional with a slide rule.
Breitling Caliber 22 self-winding mechanical movement and a power reserve of 42 hours. Comes in a choice of metals; steel, steel & gold or 18 carat red gold. Water-resistant to 3 bars, if this watches every ends up in space the wearer can be sure it will endure the splash-down better this time around.
