Breitling Avenger Seawolf Chrono Black Steel

The Breitling Avenger Seawolf Chrono Blacksteel is a manly watch limited to 2,000 pieces.  Handsomely done in black carbon-based treatment, it comes on a “porthole” black rubber strap and measure in at 45.4mm.

It’s an interesting watch in many ways, its “directional memory” is unique, with the compass markings on the flange you input your course and the watch remembers.  No more getting lost in the wilderness.

A watch you can count on, the Avenger is not mechanical but a new ultra accurate “Superquartz”, off by only a few seconds a year.  And it comes with thermo-compensated quartz movements, Breiling Caliber 73.  The “SuperQuartz” movement chronometer measures short times to within 1/10th of a second and split time indications are provided by flyback hand.

Even with gloves on, the bezel, crown and push pieces are easy to operate.  The special quartz regular makes adjustments necessary during temperature changes which are the leading cause of variations in reliability.

If that wasn’t cool enough, it has a magnetic chronograph pusher system that can be used under water, something that generally cannot be done.  COSC certified and water-resistant to 1,000 meters or 3,300 feet.

Activation of the chronograph controls can be done without direct contact between the movement and the push piece but is done through the metal case.  Complete with a screw-down crown and decompression valve, you are set to go.
