Breitling SuperOcean
Baselworld was all abuzz about the new Breitling watches released for 2010, they are exciting and creative as one might expect from this company. A new spin on an old design originally made for professional and military divers, the new SuperOcean is modern and dynamic in design without losing any of its technical features that make it a great diver’s watch. Fresh and sporty it will please the eye on both dry land and under the sea. Originally launched in 1957 it was watertight to 200 meters or 660 feet and for those days that was quite impressive.
The steel case measures in at 42mm making this a substantial timepiece. The dial comes in an array of colors Abyss Black, Abyss Silver, Abyss Blue, Abyss Red and Abyss Yellow. The tip of the second hand also matches the color of the chapter ring, which is a nice touch. Double-sided anti-reflective convex sapphire crystal protects the dial.
The rubber-molded bezel feels nice to the touch and the sloping numbers and fluted pattern give it an adventurous feel. Self-winding chronometer works at depths of 1,500 meters or 5,000 feet, this COSC certified watch has an easy to read dial under water. Available in with a rubber or stainless steel strap, movement is Breitling Caliber 17.
